Games I have been playing..

I have been playing a lot of games lately especially in the Facebook. I have been playing the Farmville and Cafe World. It was addictive for the first 3 weeks and then it became very boring. But still I couldn’t stop playing it. I want to have the highest score :) . It has become a chore now :( and I hate doing it. To go to the next level takes so much time that It gets frustrating after some time.

Atleast those people have been introducing some thing new every week which is good otherwise, you won’t see me there any time soon. It has become an obsession to just visit facebook every hour to see if somebody has a stray in their farm :) .

I have been playing  my nintendo DS again for the past 3 days. I have downloaded about 6 new games but trying to fix it with the arm7 software. My favourite right now is the Professor Layton and the Pandora box. I like games with puzzles or even brain games. This game is full of puzzles and sometimes it too much for me but hubby is there for me to help :) .

I do like my UNO game which is silly but fun :) and I also like my 7 wonders game. I have the R4 card and it has about 20 games in it which is not bad and in my PC, I have about nearly 50 games :) . I just love checking everyday for some new games.

Review : ELF Studio line brushes

I bought the ELF studio line makeup brushes after reading rave reviews. I wasn’t expecting much but now that I have it, I see the difference between them and the brushes which I have.

I bought the Powder brush (flat top) and Blush brush. The first time I used it, I was hooked line and sinker. I don’t have any high-end brand brushes and all I have are of drugstore brands both in europe and USA. I already had the ELF normal line makeup brushes so I know that it’s a good one. I use the Angles blush brush a lot from the normal line. The studio line brushes are so soft ( seriously, you have to try it and I promise you that you won’t regret it at all). And the best part is they are only $ 3 :D .

I am loving the blush brush as its perfect for contouring my face and use the blush as well. The powder brush is perfect for blending away the contour and blush. I don’t use foundation on my face these days but even if I do, the powder brush will be perfect for blending away.

I thought of buying from the UK website but the price conversion from the US website is ridiculous so I decided to wait till I visit US again :) . But people from europe or USA, I swear that you won’t regret buying this line of brushes. It is amazingly soft on your face. I am loving this line from ELF. I also have my eye on the blushes and eyeshadows from this line :) .

Review : Essence Lipgloss & Eyeliner

I have been keeping my eye on this brand for a long time. This is an European brand which is made from Germany and Its been in Ireland for more than 3 years. I already bought 1 lipgloss and about 4 eyeshadows in the past. I like this brand because its very inexpensive and you can buy them without feeling guilty. The products are good as well. Once in 2 months, they introduce some limited edition products.

The lipgloss which i bought is a limited edition called Wild Berry Sorbet. In the tube, its looks deep plum colour but it applies as a sheer colour. I am not a fan of sheer colour lipglosses. I like mine very pigmented so I was little bit dissapointed with this one. It smells like cherries which I like :) . Its not sticky which I like. I just wish it had more pigmentation :( .

The eyeliner which I bought is a crystal eyeliner in brown. Its just a normal brown liner but in my medium skin tone it just blends into my sking tone. You can’t see it unless you are really close to me :( . But I have been using this a lot for the past 3 weeks. When i don’t feel like using black eyeliner, this is a excellent eyeliner to use. But i still wish it was more brown, it looks almost bronzy colour.

Overall, its not a bad products at all. And these are excellent products for teenagers to use.

Nail #14 : Nail Tek Foundation II

This is one the popular Ridge filling base coat. I found this in Marshalls where they had 2 bottles for $ 6 . I was so excited after seeing it. Thanks to all the beauty & nail blogs, I recognised the name and just grabbed it. I think the normal price is about $ 8 each (I think) but I got a bargain in Marshalls. I love that store :) .

Moving on, the nails are some times rough and when applied nail polishes on top of it shows streaking and that is why they use ridge filling base coat. This is my favourite coast because it has some vitamins, etc, etc for nail conditioning as well. When applied on the nails, it goes matt instead of glossy. Its suppose to strengthen the nails as well :) .

I haven’t noticed any chipping or peeling for about 5-6 days which is great. I keep patting myself for finding a great bargain :D .

India in Documentaries and Movies..

I read this article from one of my favorite blog by an Indian Girl which lead me to thinking about how others (non-indians) view India. The article was so true and funny. It all started with being called India as a 3rd World country (yes, it was, about 20 years ago.. rolling eyes). I think whenever people who has never visited India, think of India, they think its all poverty like Slumdog Millionaire.

Seriously, you have to get over that movie. Its just a movie and to Indians its like saying if you ever go to USA, all you will ever see  murder, drugs, bullying, racism, etc, etc because as you all know that is what we see in all American movies :D . I found it funny when people after watching that movie started asking if India is like that (rolling eyes).

The above article talks about how the movie showed bullock cart in chennai (which is a big popular city in south India). I have lived in chennai for most of my life and I  have never seen a bullock cart in chennai. Maybe if you go to outskirts of the city and even then, people have moped or scooter instead of bullock cart. Only farmers have those and they don’t farm in the cities (lol). I was laughing when I thought about the shock on any indian’s face in the city when they saw the bullock cart.

Most of the people don’t seem to understand how educated Indians are. For us, education is everything and they can’t believe that we study in English medium schools (seriously.. lol). I think the non-indians should probably see Bollywood movies :D about how the majority looks like. They should make documentary on the people working in the IT sector and how they live :) . But they won’t do that because they do the same thing as the american people and that is not interesting for them to watch :) .

Finally, I thought it was an interesting topic to talk about.

Review : ELF Complextion Perfection

This is one from the ELF hauls. It is supposed to create a healthy and radiant looking face. I am really impressed with this product. The powder is very finely milled and it just blends into your skin. The formulation is so soft that it just melts into the skin. I have been using the yellow one for setting my concealer under my eyes. This was just $ 3 and its perfect for that money.

Each colour helps in counteracting the complexion concerns.

Yellow – conceal flaws and shadows-also brightens the under-eye area
Green – Used to counteract redness (IE. pimples, breakouts, rashes, cheek redness, etc)
Pink – Used to counteract green tones. People with darker skintones tend to have under eye circles that are more of a dark greenish tint. Pink concealer is used to correct that. It can also be used to cover up green veins.
Blue – Used to counteract yellow tones. If you have yellow areas of the face conceal them with a purple base corrector.

This is just perfect for instant complextion brightener. With the help of a blending brush, just apply the yellow powder under your eyes after applying the concealer. Sometime while using a cream concealer, it fades or moves due to the oil in the skin. If you set it with any powder, It will remain for a long time.

I definetely think that everyone should have this in their makeup bag :) .

Song of the month

I have always been a fan of Dido right from the college days. Her songs are so soothing and the lyrics are brilliant according to me. The below 2 songs are my all time favorite and when ever I hear them they lift up my mood and I keep humming the lyrics for a long time :) .

The first video is White flag. I was attracted to the video first as it has David Boreanaz in it. I kinda had a crush on him from his Angel days (hee). I think he looks very sexy. The lyrics and the music is very catchy. Just listen and read the lyrics below.

The second video is her first hit song and I love the lyrics and the music. The video is not that great. But this video has just her song and lyrics. Listen to them.

Cats on our bed

Its been long since I talked about our cats. We have spoilt them more after coming back from USA :D . I know that its our fault but we felt so guilty about leaving them behind. Anyway, these days they are sleeping in our bed in the afternoon :) .

During weekends, hubby ususally gets up by 9 am and let them in our bedroom and they will sleep next to me till I wake up. Then after their lunch they will sleep alone in the bed till 6 or 7 pm. I was shocked to see that they can sleep for 5 hrs at a stretch. We tend to distrub them every 2 hours (heeee) as we don’t like them sleeping peacefully (lol).

So I tend to go and kiss them awake or even hug them (hee). They just give me a sleepy look and go back to sleep again. The photo below was taken during one of the weekend mornings after I got up from the bed. As you can see, they are sleeping on our blanket. They love sleeping on it because its so warm and comfortable for them. So we tend not to fold our blankets (hee).

Look at them sleeping away. They didn’t even open their eyes to look what we are doing (rolling eyes). We tried closing our bedroom once, wanting them to sleep in the living room. But you should have seen the drama they made, all the pathetic mewing as if saying why we are torturing them by not letting them to sleep on bed. If we ignore the mewing, thinking that we don’t know what they want, they go and scratch the bedroom door mewing (rolling eyes).

Then we decided to let them sleep on the bed, otherwise they will mew till we open the door :) .

Nutella Bread Pudding

I had my first bread pudding in Las Vegas and I loved it. I have been wanting to make this for a long time and an opportunity arose last week :) . I found the recipe in TasteSpotting website. I love that website. It has loads of featured recipes and all I did was search for bread pudding. I think I had about more than 20 recipe. I decided up on this version as I liked the sound of it.

Also I changed the recipe to my version :D . Make sure you eat them warm. To me, they are a comfort dessert :) .
